We celebrated the winter solstice by being outside for most of it, on a rather unseasonably (but welcome!) warm and bright day.  Viggo and I have a tradition of making birdseed ornaments to hang outside, and this year's incarnation came as peanut butter toast sprinkled with a seed mix.

I cleared out our autumn-themed books to make room for the winter ones, and Viggo made room on his nature shelf for new treasures (he said he wants to put snow on it-- we'll see!)

Dinner was shared over candlelight, and everyone shared hopes and intentions for winter.  A really lovely day to celebrate the new season.
