This morning was wonderfully cool and sunny, so right after breakfast we headed out for a nature walk.
We wandered first through a soybean field then took a path leading into the woods. We continued without any set destination or pace, stopping to look at golden leaves, feathers, seeds, anything and everything.
As we walked we started collecting and identifying our discoveries, musing how they ended up in the places we found them. At home, we spread out our finds on the table and picked a few to make stamps.
Here is our recipe for salt dough, if you want to try making stamps of your own!
1 cup salt 2 cups of flour 1 cup water
Mix flour and salt, and gradually stir in water. You may not need the entire cup to reach the consistency you need.
To make the ornaments, we placed them in the oven at 200F for about 30 minutes, flipping halfway through. Bake time varies according to the size and thickness of the ornaments, of course!
