Winter has brought us four days of snow and ice and a tempestuous visit from the north wind. Today though, the snow is falling gently and all is silent and so very beautiful.
As wooly as they are, the sheep do not mind the cold; however, they do mind the snow drifts, and thus are mostly sticking to the barn. Truly in her element, Eleanor is delighted by the snow! Indeed she has no qualms rolling around or taking a nap in it. (I might say the same of Viggo, but we draw the line at sleeping outside. Ahem.) The chickens are warm in their coop, decidedly uninterested in crossing the threshold and getting their feet wet.
Inside we are staying warm and enjoying the change of pace that being snowed in brings; slowed down, tucked in, enjoying home.
